Week 4: RSS

This week we are learning about RSS feeds which stands for Real Simple Syndication.

I understand using RSS my favourite information will come to me but I find that my bookmark list is easier for me to stay up to date with my favourite websites.
I guess it's just another way to get information.
One positive is that it weeds the garbage from what I'm really interested in reading, if your like me your bookmark page is very long.
Libraries can use technology to share information and to market themselves.

I am still undecided whether or not I would use this personally but can see the benefits.

Week 3- Exporing Flickr

This week we had to find an interesting image to blog about.
I found a category called " A year ago today" which showed pictures that were published this time last year.
I got to thinking that a lot can change in a year and this photo is a good example of that.
The tiny feet of this newborn would now be a toddler running through the halls.
The relaxing bath would be replaced by chaotic splashing and laughter.
This picture captures a moment in time that the family can look back on and marvel at how much their baby has changed.

I enjoy Flickr for the artistic value more than a place that I would upload photos for friends and family to see. If I were trying to share my photos with family and friends I would be more inclined to upload directly onto Facebook.
I understand that all your photos are in one place for easy sharing, it is just not something that I do personally but can appreciate how others would like the system.
